How to Get Invited for Canadian Permanent Residency in Less Than 3 months

Express Entry is not the fastest way to immigrate to Canada, despite what you may believe. What if we told you that a Provincial Nominee Program would enable you to receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) in less than three months?

That is correct! Due to its convenience, effectiveness, and quick processing times of as little as six months, Canada's Express Entry system is and has been one of the most popular ways to immigrate to the country for over five years. However, it no longer holds the title for the quickest processing times.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program is a new rival in town. You might wonder, "How Do I Apply?". and "What Makes BC Great?" Let's look at how the BCPNP can help you obtain your ITA for Canadian PR in less than three months.

How to Get Canadian Permanent Residence British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program

The first step in obtaining that much-desired ITA for Canadian residency is to identify the program that is most appropriate for you. We've already shown that the British Columbia PNP is one of the quickest routes to permanent residence in Canada, but does it work for you, and are you eligible?

Who is eligible for Canadian Permanent Residence under a Provincial Nominee Program?

The goal of Canada's immigration policy is to make it easier for foreigners to enter the country who have the skills, credentials, and work experience needed to contribute to economic growth. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) enables provincial and territorial governments to choose skilled workers under the particular requirements of their infrastructures and economies.

The PNPs in 11 of Canada's 13 provinces and territories have standards for various categories and streams. You must be admissible to Canada and fulfill the requirements of your chosen province or territory's PNP to be considered eligible for Canadian PR through a PNP. However, since our primary goal is to receive an invitation in less than three months, we'll focus on British Columbia's PNP in this article.

You can explore the Provincial Nominee Programs available if BC is not your preferred pick.

How to Apply for Canadian Permanent Residence in British Columbia

As with any other visa application, the first step is to confirm your eligibility for the program you want to apply for. There are four BCPNP categories you can select from, but only three of them will guarantee you an invitation in less than three months:

  • The BC Express Entry Category;
  • The BC Skills Immigration Category; and
  • The BC Tech Pilot.

British Columbia Express Entry

Simple requirements must be met to qualify for BC Express Entry to Canada. You must be eligible for one of the three programs run by the Express Entry system, namely the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP), or the Canada Experience Class (CEC), and for one of the four streams that fall under this BC category.

  • Express Entry Skilled Worker Program;
  • Express Entry International Graduate Program;
  • Express Entry PNP International Post-Graduate Program; or
  • Express Entry PNP Healthcare Professional Program.

To be eligible, you must have an Express Entry profile, a job offer, linguistic fluency in English or French, enough money for a down payment, and possibly work experience if you use the Healthcare Professional program.

How to apply

Two methods exist for application. The first is done straight via Express Entry. Following the creation of your profile, you would need to indicate your interest in the province or territory of your choice—in this case, British Columbia. However, the procedure using this technique can take about six months.

The second choice is to submit your application directly through the BC Online Registration Portal, which will cut down on processing times. Although you will need to create an Express Entry profile, submitting your application directly to the province will spare the provincial government from searching through the pool of candidates for your application. Additionally, when draws are held every two weeks, you won't necessarily need to worry about meeting the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score.

British Columbia Skills Immigration

You must choose one of the five streams listed below and confirm that you meet its requirements to be eligible for the BC Skills Immigration category:

  • Skilled Worker Stream;
  • Healthcare Professional Stream;
  • International Graduate Stream;
  • International Post-Graduate Stream; or
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Stream.

You must have a job offer in the tourism/hospitality, long-haul trucking, or food processing industries, meet the minimal language, educational, and settlement fund requirements, and have at least nine continuous months of relevant work experience in British Columbia to be eligible for the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Stream.

Just to make sure you know, applying directly through the BC PNP Online Registration portal will result in quicker processing and will help you avoid the long wait times associated with the PNP paper application procedure, which might take up to 19 months to complete.

How to apply

You must register with the BC Skills Immigration System if you apply through the Skilled Worker, Entry Level, Semi-Skilled, or International Graduate streams (SIRS). Using this points-based system, the BC government may access and analyze your job offer, language proficiency, wage, education, and where you are in British Columbia.

Then, similar to the Express Entry method, you will earn a registration score and be entered into a draw pool where the applicants with the highest registration scores will receive ITAs. If approved, you will receive a provincial nomination that you can use to apply for permanent residence at Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). If you are successful, you will receive your invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residency and will have 30 days to accept.

British Columbia Tech Pilot

All IT experts are needed! One of Canada's digital centers, British Columbia, offers a wealth of chances for knowledgeable and experienced tech workers looking to advance their careers.

You may be invited to apply for PR in one of the weekly tech draws if you have a job offer for at least a year in one of the following 29 qualified occupations in British Columbia, have at least two years of relevant work experience, and meet the language, education, and settlement fund requirements. The best thing, though? Your application via the Online Portal can be processed quicker than others because tech workers are in high demand in British Columbia!

Eligible tech occupations

  • Telecommunication carriers managers
  • Computer and information systems managers
  • Managers - publishing, motion pictures, broadcasting, and performing arts
  • Mechanical engineers

How to apply

Perhaps the most straightforward and quickest application for immigration to Canada under the BCPNP is this one. Simply register using the BC Online Portal, then watch for the results of the weekly tech draw. You will be sent an ITA for PR if your name is drawn from the draw pool. You must accept within 30 days of the offer, and after it has been reviewed, you may receive a PN that you must submit to the IRCC when you apply for Canadian permanent residency.
